Peter Hollows, Web Systems Engineer

Pete got involved in information systems after working in electrical
and computer engineering. He takes pride in designing systems that
people get along with and believes that good technology makes itself
second nature to those using it.

As a minimalist, Apple-ist, Ruby-ist, and good-design enthusiast; Pete
found working at Trike attractive enough to move from New Zealand
mid-2009. At Trike, he says “there’s a real appreciation that we are
what we make”.

Skills

Obsessed with information and systems, Pete spends much time
researching and following the developments of new technologies. To
date he has accumulated functional familiarity with a great many
solutions but specialises in web development using Ruby.

Outside of work, Pete keeps working and maintains project websites for
artists and interest-communities. Having a passion for web technology
isn’t all consuming for him though — Pete follows his interest
through many avenues ranging from business models and marketing to
nutrition, economics, aviation and agriculture, and puts a lot of effort
toward acquiring new understandings.
