Design for Manufacture and Assembly

A process conducted during the Detailed design stage it has 2 key components: - Design for assembly - which ensures the assembly of parts is intelligent and suitable for production, that the attachment of parts is reliable and that the number of parts is reduced where possible. - Design for manufacture - which uses tools and experience to select the ideal manufacture process and material for the part and then optimizes the part design. This process helps to reduce the product cost by removing unnecessary effort, parts and material from the production process.
